Norwegian Wild Reindeer Center Pavilion

Overlooking the mountain Snøhetta, the Norwegian Wild Reindeer Center Pavilion, designed by Snøhetta, is located at Hjerkinn on the outskirts of Dovrefjell National Park. This 90 square meters building is open to the public and servers as an observation pavilion. The design of the building is based on a contrast between ideas – a rigid outer shell and a soft, organic inner core. The wooden rock/ice like shaped core has been eroded by natural forces like wind and running water, and is placed within a rectangular frame of raw steel and glass.  This beautiful piece of design would serve perfectly as a guest house or weekend getaway, for enjoying the nature at its fullest. Think of beds inside and a big kitchen/dining area. Not a bad idea for a place to enjoy with your friends and family.
