Located on a steep hillside site in Los Angeles, The Sunset Plaza Residence by Belzberg Architects, is a clustered 1210 square meters estate combining existing sloped terrain with flat, stepped areas to create nestled intimacy and great expansive views. The site consists of main house, living quarters and detached garage/rec. room. The architectural and structural design allows both extroverted entertainment lifestyle and protected family environment. The garage/recreation room acts as a buffer between the densities of neighboring residences to allow a gradient of privacy. Further away, the entryway axis forms a spatial delineation between public and private space. Inside you can see huge spaces divided by wall elements including wood, brick and marbled surfaces. The project team has done amazing job whether you look the place at the daylight or during the evening letting the lighting enhance the characteristics and shapes of the buildings.
